Lactose Intoler-Art x Josiah Chua Collaboration Photographed by Kimoken

Excited to share these photos of a shoot I did with featuring one off collaboration pieces I did with Singaporean Designer Chua.
The idea behind this collection was mixing the idea of art and fashion, as well as analyzing how people perceive "Japanese street fashion" outside of Japan.
There were a total of six looks for this collection, so there's a lot more to see and to be talked about.. (More info in the next post!)
For this particular collection, we had two official shoots. This shoot is solely featuring one specific piece shot by Kimoken in Koenji.
Kimoken is a street fashion photographer, taking photos of the more indie/underground side of Tokyo's fashion scene. The people he captures are usually more subcultural, into the arts, music, or have their own indie brands. Koenji is an area where you can see a lot of flavor in Tokyo outside of Harajuku. It's more of a place though, where you have to be there at the right time/event, and to know the shop. Kimoken does an amazing job of capturing exactly what's happening in the scene when other photographers aren't around.

I have enjoyed working with Kimoken on this project. He has a great eye for location and people on the street as well.  Not only is he is truly talented,  but has become a great friend.
For this shoot, I was also very excited to meet Pachiko, the sweet model he scouted on the streets of Koenji when she was visiting in from Hokkaido. She did such a nice job embracing the clothing! This first photo below is called "hatching Tamagotchi" by Kimoken..(haha). Stay tuned for the rest of the looks from the other shoot!
